The Avengers - 5 films later, it all comes down to this

Well, since it’s been hinted at since the first Ironman movie, might as well address it.

The upcoming Avengers film, though not out till next summer, already has a huge buzz for fans for a little over 6 years now. Technically the anticipation for this film (according to some of the more diehard comic fans) has been much longer, though never truly realized until that extended ending trailer in the first Ironman movie. Since then, we have seen more hints and clips of the same sort throughout many other Marvel based films, like Ironman 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and most recently with the Captain America movie that just got released (Good film btw). And with all of the films now done and released, there’s only one thing left to do…Avengers assemble!!

Sorry couldn’t resist saying it, but I am getting a bit excited now they are finally bringing everyone thus far together in one film to create the Avenger team. We haven’t seen a full team like this on film since…well X-Men first class (which was good, see my review on it!) and if it’s anything like that film we hopefully will not be disappointed. Remember, there have been a few disappointing grouped superhero films in the not-so distant past. Some felt that some of the older X-Men movie trilogy was lacking something within it. I personally liked the first one, really liked the 2nd one, but was rather indifferent with the 3rd one. Another disappointing and (thankfully short lived) series was the Fantastic Four. YUK. Both films were not good, though I did like how they introduced Silver Surfer in the 2nd one.

All the same, with all the anticipation and prep work they’ve done to set up this film, they would be hard pressed not to fail with this film. Considering the entire wait, hints, and all the money made on the last 5 films to finally come to terms to bringing it all home in this première of the Avengers, they better deliver.

Nuff said.

  2. And, they're not done yet! Currently in the works are Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2 and The Avengers 2. This may very well be the single greatest money-making movie conglomerate franchise in history. And, based on what we've learned by watching The Replacement Gods http://drdmoviemusings.blogspot.ca/2012/10/the-replacement-gods-post-modern-rant.html it may have significant spiritual implications.
